About Me

Clifford Liles has travelled, lived, and worked in several countries throughout Europe and in Australia. His works have appeared in Acumen, Poetry Salzburg Review, OrbisLondon Grip, The Cannon’s Mouth, Reach Poetry and Dream Catcher.

He was Runner Up in the 2020 Earlyworks Press competition and twice Highly Commended in Winchester Writers’ Festival competitions. He has also been shortlisted in the SaveAs Writers and Canterbury Festival competitions.

His collection The Thin Veneer, published in July 2022 with Dempsey and Windle, is a distinctive poetry collection that explores themes such as the fragility of our existence and relationships, the power of nature, the impact of technology, and the climate breakdown using the sonnet form. He is now working on his second collection.

In 2023, he will sit on the judging panel for the Canterbury Festival Poet of the Year competition. See https://canterburyfestival.co.uk/poet-of-the-year-competition-2023/?mc_cid=96518d988a&mc_eid=459492b1af for more details.
